Class 43

The Class 43 CrocsCountry is a high speed train present in Dovedale. It can be spawned at the Masonfield sidings. The CrocsCountry livery comes from the real life operator, CrossCountry which formerly operated the same trains on their intercity routes.

This train was known for being very unstable and derailing randomly even at low speeds. As of Version 1.1.4, its the maximum speed has been limited to 63 mph and its stability has been improved.^[1] In two patches in June 2024, the general train stability was further improved, which lead to the maximum speed being increased to 125 mph.^[2]

Trivia

In Version 1.1, the HST could be spawned at Fanory Mill alongside Masonfield.

References

The Class 43 Virquin is an admin-only train in the game which was previously public. The Virquin livery comes from the real life operator, VirginTrains which operates the same trains.

Aside from the paintjob and livery being different, there are no differences to the CrocsCountry variant of the Class 43.

It was removed for unknown reasons in November 2023 and remains unavailable.

The Class 43 Swallow is a high speed train present in Dovedale. It can be spawned at the Masonfield sidings. The Intercity Swallow livery comes from the real life British Rail Intercity branding used on Intercity routes throughout Britain during nationalisation with British Rail.

Trivia

The Virquin and the CrocsCountry versions used to spawn on the same platform at Masonfield, though at different sections of it.
The Intercity Swallow version is a different scale to the other versions.
