Style
- Here at the Dovedale Railway Wiki, please write in British English. This applies to the spelling and grammar of the words.
(Example: colour over color).
- You will need good grammar and good spelling when editing or making articles. Before you publish, please do a quick check of your edits.
- Do not use ampersands (&) in replacement of ‘and’. You are encouraged to write in full instead of abbreviations.
(Example: they are not they're)
- Apostrophes should be used correctly.
(Example: Its and It’s)
- Always have a space succeeding a comma, like this.
- When writing a list, do not repeatedly use the word ‘and’, use commas. You are encouraged to use different connecting words.
- Roblox is preferred over ROBLOX.
- When mentioning any notable user, like a developer, check that that is their most updated name.
- Searching their previous name can yield their current name in Roblox results.
(Example: l1z4rdju1ce over happyshalala)
- Quotations should be in italics, or using the {{Quote}} template. Please write quotations using the quote function in the editor.
- Quotes should use (“”) and not (‘ ‘)
(Example:“Donated by RAYE”.)
- “BALL was created by an unknown man and has been turned into a meme in the dovedale community. It is now being preserved in this museum owened by Meowtwotonnezoom.”
- If this is the last word of the sentence, do not add an extra ‘.’ .
- When writing a date, write in its full format, like 31 January 2021. Do not shorten the month, year, or anything else.
- Please use the proper dash (-) when writing 2 dates. DO NOT use em dashes, en dashes, or arrows.
- Do not write ‘st’, ‘nd’, or ‘rd’ after date numbers.
(Example: 31 January 2021 - 1 April 2021)
- When writing, it is usually not advisable to have exclamation marks or question marks as the end.
- No profanity should be used in the articles. Exceptions include external site links or quotes. Please contact a Bureaucrat+ when in doubt.
- When using or choosing pictures, the main photo should be of high quality and in the 'day' mode. Other photos can be taken during night, though it should be placed secondary.
- Please use the METRIC system, with the exception for length, where we use studs, the Roblox Standard.
- Length - Studs
- Speed - Studs per second
- Time - Minutes and Hours (Do not shorten this)
(Example: The maximum speed of this train is 100 studs per second.) (Example: The timetable allows drivers for a 3 minute break at Satus Services.)
- When writing numbers over a thousand, include comma separators.
(Example: There are around 10,000 trees around Dovedale East)
- Game currency should be referred to as the following:
- XP - Experience Points
- Robux may be shortened to ‘R$’.
- when describing numbers below 10, they should be written in text format. For larger numbers, please write in number form.
(Example: She accidentally spawned in two trains.) (There are over 400 applicants for this round.)
- Terms should be carefully chosen. For instance, removed should not be interchangeably used with unobtainable.
- If the item is admin only, such as an admin only train, please use the latter, or 'admin-only'.
- If a train was previously available but was removed, and can no longer be used or seen, please use the term removed.
(Example: The Class 91 Intercity is unobtainable)
(Example: The Class 323 was unobtainable for some time. )

Permission to reproduce items where third-party owned material protected by copyright is included has been sought and cleared where possible. Every reasonable effort has been made to trace copyright holders, but if any items requiring clearance have unwittingly been included, we will be pleased to make amends at the earliest possible opportunity.
We sincerly apologise if you believe that your copyrighted content is being used in a manner that you believe violates your rights. While we will be happy to make amends, should you need further help, please contact out wiki host (Fandom) with a Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) takedown notice. Please note that all contributions to the Dovedale Wiki are considered to be released under the CC-BY-SA unless otherwise stated. This means that although you the editor are the holder of the copyright, you have given blanket and irrevocable permission to the world at large to reuse, remix, and transform your work as long as you are attributed as the author. Please note that images are not automatically released under the CC BY-SA license.
Third party sources can use content from this wiki. This is acceptable under the Creative Commons license. All third parties must provide proper attribution on every article and link back. An example is located here.
If you want to add copyrighted content to our wiki, the use of the material will have to qualify as fair use or similar exception. Four factors are considered by courts to determine whether an item's usage counts as fair use:
- Purpose of the use
- Nature of the copyrighted work
- Amount and substantiality of copyrighted work used compared to the work as a whole
- Potential market for the copyrighted work
- You have the permission of the copyright holder to use it on Fandom.
- The material you want to use is licensed under a Creative Commons or other open license that permits free reuse.
- The material is in the public domain.
- You have created the material yourself.
If your use of content does not fall under one of these broad categories, it likely infringes someone's copyright. It is therefore against our Terms of Use to submit that material. We recommend using content that has a compatible license or is released to the public domain whenever possible.
When uploading a file, you should tag it with the appropriate copyright tag, in order to make its copyright status clear. Remember: all images uploaded should be used under fair use or be images that are freely available, with or without conditions or restrictions. You must adhere to any licensing requirements, such as attributing the author and source on the file description page.
There are penalties for breaching such copyright laws if you are a user of this wiki/ Fandom. Should you uploads content that accrues three (3) separate DMCA takedown notices, Fandom, Inc. has the right to disable the account, at their discretion, under their repeat infringer policy. Takedown notices for which content has been restored in response to a successful counter-notification do not count as strikes for the purposes of the repeat infringer policy.
the wiki will also issue our own separate blocks on the matter, depending on the situation.
The staff team will generally NOT counter strike DMCA notices unless deemed absolutely necessary due to the possibility of a lawsuit.
