Terms of Service

About us at Dovedale Railway Wiki

These Terms of Service and Privacy Policy apply to our websites, and related online and offline offerings (collectively, the “Services”). The Services include our website at dovedale.wiki (thereafter referred to the ‘Dovedale Wiki’ or ‘The Dovedale Wiki’), and all our respective subdomains. Our services are operated by volunteer individuals located around the world. The following terms of services outline the rules of using our services.

While we are affiliated with the Dovedale Railway project, we do not represent the views of the game as a whole. Please note that this is also not an official wiki project by ROBLOX. Any complaints or feedback regarding services provided by them should be directed to the relevant official feedback channels.

This agreement (the “Agreement”) is entered into by and between you and The Dovedale Wiki regarding your use of the Dovedale Wiki website. By accessing our services, you are entering into this Agreement with the Dovedale Wiki and indicating that you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. If you do not agree with these terms and conditions, please do not use our services.

To contact us, please email [email protected]. You may also reach out in our Discord Server's support section.

Description of Service

The Dovedale wiki is an online open-content collaborative encyclopedia; that is, a voluntary association of individuals and groups working to develop a common resource of human knowledge, a free service provided by our Dovedale Wiki that offers articles related to the game Dovedale Railway on Roblox.

General Disclaimers

You understand and agree that the Service is provided on an AS IS AND AS AVAILABLE basis. Dovedale Wiki disclaims all responsibility and liability for the availability, timeliness, security or reliability of the Service. The structure of the project allows anyone with an Internet connection to alter its content. Please be advised that nothing found here has necessarily been reviewed by people with the expertise required to provide you with complete, accurate or reliable information. That is not to say that you will not find valuable and accurate information on our site - much of the time you will. However, we cannot guarantee the validity of the information found here. The content of any given article may recently have been changed, vandalized or altered by someone whose opinion does not correspond with the state of knowledge in the relevant fields. Note that most other encyclopedias and reference work also have disclaimers. The Dovedale Wiki also reserves the right to modify, suspend or discontinue the Service with or without notice at any time and without any liability to you.

Lack of Peer Review

Our active community of editors and volunteer staff use website feeds to monitor new and changing content. However, we are not uniformly peer reviewed; while readers may correct errors or engage in casual peer review, they have no legal duty to do so and thus all information read here is without any implied warranty of fitness for any purpose or use whatsoever. Even articles that have been vetted by informal peer review may later have been edited inappropriately, just before you view them. None of the contributors, sponsors, administrators or anyone else connected with the Dovedale Wiki in any way whatsoever can be responsible for the appearance of any inaccurate or libelous information or for your use of the information contained in or linked from these web pages.

Proper Use

You agree that you will use the Service in compliance with all applicable local, state, national, and international laws, rules and regulations. You shall not, shall not agree to, and shall not authorize or encourage any third party to: (a) use the service to harass other users; (b) prevent others from using the Service; (c) use the Service for any fraudulent or inappropriate purpose. Any violation of the above may result in immediate termination of this Agreement, and may subject you to legal consequences. Dovedale Wiki reserves the right, but shall have no obligation, to investigate your use of the Service in order to determine whether a violation of the Agreement has occurred or to comply with any applicable law, regulation, legal process or governmental request.

Please note that all contributions except media content created by you to the Dovedale Wiki are considered to be released under the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike License 4.0 (Unported) (CC BY-SA) unless otherwise stated. This means that although you the editor are the holder of the copyright, you have given blanket and irrevocable permission to the world at large to reuse, remix, and transform your work as long as you are attributed as the author. Please note that images are not automatically released under the CC BY-SA license, unless created by you and uploaded to this site, where you should select the appropriate license prior to uploading

Note that all photos of original game assets, assets in public domain in game, or assets with prior permission are allowed to be used in this Wiki under terms set by Game Developers.

All third parties must provide proper attribution on every article and link back to the website. An example may be found on the Creative Commons website. Examples of third party sources include news sites, and YouTube websites.

You are generally not allowed to add copyrighted material with permission, even if it qualifies under 'fair use'. Please try to find other alternative images. We recommend using content that has a compatible license or is released to the public domain instead. Do not infringe on someone's copyright, as it is against our Terms of Service to submit that material.

When uploading a file, you should tag it with the appropriate copyright tag, in order to make its copyright status clear. Remember: all images uploaded should be used under fair use or be images that are freely available, with or without conditions or restrictions. You must adhere to any licensing requirements, such as attributing the author and source on the file description page. Any untagged file may be deleted at any time.

For policy and project pages, permission to reproduce items where third-party owned material protected by copyright is included has been sought and cleared where possible. Every reasonable effort has been made to trace copyright holders, but if any items requiring clearance have unwittingly been included, we will be pleased to make amends at the earliest possible opportunity. We sincerely apologise if you believe that your copyrighted content is being used in a manner that you believe violates your rights. We would be happy to make amends as soon as we can; please contact us at the email stated above.
