Dovedale Train Radio System

From Dovedale Railway Wiki

The Dovedale Train Radio System (DTRS), also known as the Dovedale Train Radio Network (DTRN), was a communication system that was in development for the game to simulate real-life train radio communication. The project is currently cancelled, as seen by the responsible developer leaving the team.

The intention of the project was to allow players to communicate using real phone numbers. After applying for a number using the form below, players would get a personal, unique SIP (EXPLAIN) number along with a password. This number enabled them to call other players using an actual phone.

The use of the PhonerLite Softphone app on PC was required to connect with the number. In the game, these numbers were planned to be displayed next to the player’s name, but this was never properly implemented. Additionally, there was a service number (099990) that provided players with access to game information and tutorials.

This system was planned for the V2.0 release but in the end was discontinued due to Dovedale HR deeming the system not viable and the main developer becoming inactive.
