Gleethrop End Signal Box is a signal box controlling the Gleethrop End area, located on the branch line between Dovedale Central and Mazewood. Prior to version 2.0. Gleethrop End was controlled by Dovedale Central Signal Box, this also counts for Perthtyne.

The electrification with third rail from Dovedale Central terminates here at Gleethrop End. Signallers controlling this area should not send EMUs on Platform 1 towards Perthtyne & Mazewood. In the event the signaller does send a EMU onto platform 1, the signaller can do Shunt Into Forward Section in the direction of Mazewood and shunt the train back to Platform 2. This is possible as the electrification goes a little bit further till the 'no EMU' sign in the direction of Perthtyne in the event of this situation.

Platform 1 is unusually short in comparison with platforms 2 and 3. HSTs & 8-car trains are advised primarily to use platform 2. 8-car trains are limited to platform 1 and 2. Attaching should be done on platform 2.

Present at the station are 3 spawners: Class 142, Class 319 and Class 411, all located at Platform 3 at Gleethrop End.

In the signal box there is: a stove, a sofa (currently non-functional), a radio, a telephone that can call DC or MW, a signaller information board, an empty pin board, TRTS bells for the station, and an approach bell for trains coming from Perthtyne.

Trivia

  • Before Version 1.3.9, the Class 411 was only available in BR green and was only allowed to spawn by admins. Additionally, the button to spawn the 411 was inside platform 3. This was to prevent non-admins spawning the 411.
