Update 2.0.0 is an upcoming major update to the game. It is expected to bring major changes to all game mechanics, such as a brand new Driving System, a brand new Signalling System, a major Station revamp to almost every station and new stations, brand new trains and scenery updates.
The update has been in development for many months, and a few teasers have been published.
Sneak peeks
Sneak peeks are often published in the Dovedale Community Discord Server, teasing content in an upcoming version. There have been a range of different sneak peeks posted for version 2.0, including Trains, Stations and new game features. Also, there is an "Interlocking testing place", where there is even more information about the upcoming 2.0 version.
Trains
Multiple trains have been featured in sneak peeks, including the Class 43, Class 411, Class 465, Class 319, Class 142 and Class 158. The notable and recent examples can be seen below.
Class 319

On the 22nd of March 2025, a new sneak peek confirmed the release of another train type, the Class 319, the train seems to have a modified British Rail livery.
Class 142

On the 31st January 2025, a sneak peek was posted of a Yellow, Blue & White Class 142 at Perthtyne. After another sneak peek released there was one of a Dark Grey, Red, Yellow & White version.
Class 456 or 319

On the 25th February 2025, a Developer sneak peeked what was presumed to be a Class 456 or 319 in a Network Southeast livery, obscuring another train, in white, orange & blue that seems to look like a Class 465 which is under development currently. This screenshot is presumed to be taken at Satus, based on other sneak peeks.

Coal Power plant

On the 23rd of November 2024, a Developer posted a sneak peek of a Coal Power plant, with a Class 158 in the foreground. It is unknown where the screenshot was taken but it may have been of the Satus - Dovedale East line.

Dovedale Central
On the 9th of March 2025, a sneak peek featuring the interior of Dovedale Central Signal Box was posted. It showcased the new Interlocking levers and track layout.

In this sneak peek we see a new station, it looks to have a single platform with 3 separate tracks.
Dovedale Central

On the 24th of November 2024, A developer posted a sneak peek of the upgraded Dovedale Central, showing it's new signage and complete rebuild. On the 31st of March 2025, A developer posted another sneak peek of Dovedale Central, showcasing it's view from inside. We can also see outside a new track layout and a pedestrian bridge going over the tracks.
