Codsall Castle is a intermediate station on the branch line from (Dovedale Central- )Marigot Crossing - Glassbury Junction. The station even though with its size has it own signal box Codsall Castle Signal Box, as there is a loop located here for trains to pass eachother. This loop however is not at the station itself but after the pedestrian crossing and the signal box in de direction of Marigot Crossing. The station has been added in Version 2.0.0, along with the rest of branch towards Glassbury Junction.

There is only one track & platform located here at Codsall Castle, together with Fisherman's Halt and Perthtyne they are the only stations who have this arrangement. The platform is pretty small and can only accommodate according to the stop car markers, a 4-car train only. Codsall Castle is also a request stop and it says with a note to clearly signal to the driver to request a train. However in typical Dovedale fashion, everyone (except HSTs and work trains) stops here even without request. The platform is made out of concrete, supported below with wooden poles. There is a information board, a red waiting shelter on the side and four lanterns on the platform.

The station has access to the street via a ramp to the signal box and a little path to a car park with 5 spaces. This serves together with the station; the cafe 'THE BALD CASTLE' and wils garage. A bus stop is also located on the road near the station operated by Codsall Busses. Its key scenery feature is a large castle located near the station, this is also presumably where the station got its name. The castle plays once in a while a sort of patriotic tune, symbolizing the old military value of the castle.

Trivia

  • Codsall Group is based at this station.
  • In the planning stages of Version 2.0., the station between Marigot Crossing and Glassbury Junction, wasn't supposed to be Codsall Castle but a revival of the old Steynbath Halt, with its own signal box as well. However that plan fell through for unknown reasons and CC was placed here with a castle as well. The box designed for this 'revival' is still found in the Interlocking Testing Place game as of the 21st of May 2025.
  • One of the Dovedale Developers plays random fanfares within the castle walls every 25 to 45 minutes.
